Laleham Players is a not-for-profit amateur theatre group based in Laleham Village, Staines, Surrey. In March 2025 we completed a run of our most recent Spring panto  “Beauty & the Beat - A Pantomime”. The script for this upbeat, original family-friendly show was inspired by two traditional fairy tales: The Red Shoes by Hans Christian Andersen (1845) where the heroine is tricked by a witch into wearing a pair of cursed red shoes that make her dance forever, and Beauty and the Beast by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve (1740) where a handsome but egotistical Prince is cursed to live his life as a grotesque beast, until he learns the lesson of being kind and good inside, as well as outside.
